Introducing: Yoga Portraits || Combining My Love of Photography and Yoga || Featuring Shakti Yoga Buffalo
Recently, I was invited to spend the afternoon photographing a Live Music Flow at Shakti Yoga on Grant Street in Buffalo. Yoga holds a very special place in my heart, and though I have somehow managed to maintain “beginner” status for over ten years myself (hello lack of consistency…and three kids…and any other excuse you can think of), I still love the practice and the way it makes me feel. Michelle at Shakti was so warm and welcoming – I felt extremely comfortable and able to instantly become one with the energy in the room. This studio has a really awesome and genuine vibe about it, and you can feel how special the atmosphere is from the moment you step foot in the door. It was an honor to connect with the people there and photograph them through all the emotions that a yoga practice can bring. I hope these images convey the connection I felt with them, their connection to each other, and the light that connects us all.
For a long time, I had been looking for a way to combine my love of photography with my love of yoga, and I think I have finally found it.
Introducing: Yoga Portraits.
If you practice yoga or meditation, and are interested in being photographed during your practice, I would absolutely love to hear from you!
